What is PPG-26-Oleate?
PPG-26-Oleate (PPG-26 Oleate) is an oil-soluble emollient ester used in hair care, skin care, sunscreens and make-up. Esteem lists it for excellent spreadability, a smooth medium skin feel, and solubilising solid sunscreens while helping prevent crystallisation.
Published on Esteem’s emollients hub as an oil-soluble grade; request the current TDS/COA for viscosity, colour and acid-value windows. Full family context is on the Emollients & Conditioners hub. For grade selection beyond this page, Esteem’s R&D and QA teams work from the application brief rather than a catalogue guess.
Applications
- Sunscreens and SPF day creams as a solvent/emollient for solid UV filters.
- Hair care and skin care needing medium, non-greasy spread.
- Make-up formulations where pigment wetting and smooth payoff matter.
How to select the grade
- Use when the oil phase needs solvency plus feel, not just slip.
- Check UV-filter solubility and crystallisation on storage, not only on day one.
- Pair with lighter esters (for example alkyl benzoate) to tune dry-touch.
How to specify on an RFQ
Send the application, the property that must not fail (HLB/emulsion stability, wetting, foam, feel or solubility), target specification, and trial quantity. That lets Esteem match the grade to your test method instead of quoting the nearest catalogue name. Current TDS, SDS and lot COA are shared for qualified enquiries through the document library route.
